International Day of Peace Community Gathering

We are looking forward to our International Day of Peace Event on September 21st with Sara Knickerbocker (details below). 

This is a great opportunity to launch the school year together, grounded in our common vision of peace while also receiving certificates for 3.5 hours of professional development credit at no cost.

Join us as we come together in community to celebrate unity, compassion, and the power of peaceful education. 

Experience a beautiful circle of connection inspired by Dr. Maria Montessori’s vision of peace, along with snacks, door prizes and spiritual preparation of the adult with Sara Knickerbocker, all while earning a certificate for 3 & ½ hours of professional development.

Cultivating Peace: An Autumn Equinox Reflection for Montessori Educators

In honor of International Peace Day

Join us for a gentle, seasonal gathering that invites stillness, intention, and community. We’ll begin by building a shared nature altar. Please bring a small object from the earth–a stone, leaf, seed, or shell to contribute. At the end of our time, each person will choose a new item from the altar as a symbolic gift of peace from another.

Together, we’ll reflect on what it means not just to protect our peace, but to cultivate it in our lives, classrooms, and relationships. Through a simple creative activity, we’ll explore what we’re ready to release and what we’re nurturing in this season of change. We’ll close with a short guided meditation and a final poetic blessing to honor the turning of the season.

Bring a journal and pen if you wish. All other materials provided — just bring yourself, your intention, and a small item from nature.

Sara Knickerbocker (she/her) is a psychologist, mediator and organizational ombuds based in Denver, Colorado. She has worked in Montessori schools as a mental health provider, administrator and consultant for fifteen years. She currently works as the school psychologist at Montessori Academy of Colorado and provides consulting, conflict management, retreats and professional development through Peace Table Solutions.
